Safer Roads, Smarter Investment, Stronger Community

As a member of the Wyoming City Council since 2022, I’ve focused on delivering practical solutions that make a real difference for our residents. My approach is simple: listen to the community, act on priorities, and deliver results that improve everyday life in Wyoming.

Below are the areas where we’re making the biggest impact -

Safer Roads

As Chair of Streets & Roads, I’ve led one of the most significant infrastructure investments in Wyoming’s history, with a focus on safety, modernization, and accessibility.

  • Road Rehabilitation
    • 25% of city roads rebuilt in 2025
    • 25% more planned and funded for 2026
    • Major projects include Oliver, Vermont, and Reily.
    • Pothole Complaints Down 20%

  • Modernizing Safety Technology → Installed Rapid Flashing Beacons at key crossings, using smart solutions to enhance pedestrian safety.

  • Public Security Enhancements → Added Flock safety cameras at nine strategic locations and allocated funding for Rec Center security systems to deter crime and assist investigations.

"Investing in our infrastructure and embracing new technology has transformed safety in Wyoming. Improved roads, upgraded sidewalks, and smarter solutions like rapid flashing beacons are helping make our streets safer and more accessible for everyone."

— Rusty Herzog, Wyoming City Manager

Smarter Investment

I believe in fiscal responsibility and making every dollar work harder for Wyoming families. By leading with efficiency and strategy, we’ve been able to deliver more improvements without increasing costs:

  • Completed over $10MM in road and water upgrades ahead of schedule and under budget.

  • More Results Without More Taxes → Efficiency gains allowed us to invest in 25% more road repairs—without increasing costs to residents.

  • Modernized City Communications → Oversaw launch of Wyoming’s redesigned city website, making it easier to use, more informative, and built to serve our residents.
    • 20% fewer calls to city staff and faster access to permits, forms, and information.

  • Finance Committee Leadership → Ensured property tax dollars are invested in support of residents' highest priorities.

"Our goal is to make every dollar count. By prioritizing strategic investments and working efficiently, we’ve delivered critical projects ahead of schedule and under budget—while planning responsibly for Wyoming’s future."

— Dan Driehaus, Chair, Wyoming Finance Committee

Stronger Community

I believe Wyoming is at its best when residents are connected and local businesses thrive. That’s why I’ve focused on projects and programs that bring people together and make our city more vibrant:

  • Village Green Revitalization → Fueling growth with a 50% increase in events and a 60% boost in attendance, attracting more families, music lovers, and art enthusiasts with broader, more diversified programming.
  • Sidewalk & Trail Improvements → Delivered nearly 10,000 sq. ft. of upgraded sidewalks and pedestrian bump-outs for safer, more walkable streets.
  • New Dog Park → Championed the opening of the Brave Like Brayden dog park, building connections between neighbors and driving foot traffic to downtown shops and restaurants.
  • Expanding Access → Secured funding for the Linden Lane sidewalk connector and North Park/Vale hike-bike trail to create a connected community.
  • Reaching More Residents → Boosted City of Wyoming social media reach by nearly 50%, while ensuring offline outreach through printed inserts in water bills.

“The new dog park has been amazing for our family. We’ve met neighbors we might never have crossed paths with otherwise, and it’s created such a welcoming space where everyone—from longtime residents to new families—can connect and feel part of the community.” - John, Wyoming Resident
